Laser Dentistry Technology
LANAP®, or Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure, is an advanced method of treatment for gum disease that enables certain periodontal procedures to be performed in a safer, more precise, and less invasive manner than with traditional surgical methods. Using LANAP, cases of periodontitis can be addressed without pain, gum line recession, or increased tooth sensitivity that is often associated with other treatments that are used at this stage of periodontal disease.
A LANAP Procedure employs a PerioLase® MVP-7TM laser to selectively vaporize the inflamed and diseased tissue beneath the gum line that is inside of a periodontal pocket while leaving the healthy tissue intact.
Benefits Of Laser Dentistry
Dr. Brian Sanford offers non-surgical laser dentistry to effectively treat advanced gum disease. He also provides minimally invasive gum lifts and reshaping procedures that result in minimal discomfort, swelling, or sutures. This technique, called bio stimulation, promotes accelerated healing without causing inflammation.
In the past, many people have avoided dental visits due to fear of dental drills. However, there are now drill-free alternatives that eliminate the unsettling sound, vibrations, and pressure. By removing the drill from your treatment, you can reduce emotional stress. Additionally, dental procedures can be completed more efficiently without the use of a drill.
Dr. Brian Sanford incorporates dental lasers in almost all aspects of patient treatment to ensure conservative, comfortable, and fast healing. This reduces the need for anesthesia, allowing busy individuals to receive dental care in fewer appointments while minimizing disruptions to their speech and eating routines during the workday.
